Not all heroes wear capes…

I’ve seen many news platforms covering a pretty amazing story recently which further endorses the level of attachment a cat feels for their human family.

An 83 woman was discovered after she fell seventy feet down an embankment into some wooded area. She was found because her cat, Piran was in the corner of the maize fields closest to where she fell and was meowing loudly. A passerby heard Piran and initiated assistance for the elderly lady after checking on what was causing the cat’s distress.

A rescue party was formed and Piran’s human is now recovering in hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.

This kind of news story, along with a recent study by an Oregon State University, that concluded cats often form stronger bonds with their human family than dogs, is yet another illustration of how misunderstood cats are as a species in terms of their emotional capacity and the requirements to ensure their emotional wellbeing.
