Cats are much more complex than most people realise, and caring for them to the optimum level means taking into account so many aspects. The Cats Protection did a study recently that compiled data not only focusing on the care aspect of cats, but including a diverse range of cat related subjects; such as where a large percentage of people obtain their feline family member from. Some of the statistics are a little concerning, for instance, “We estimate that 12% of all owned cats (around 1.3 million) are not neutered. The remaining 2% answered ‘don’t know’.” But it gives a valuable insight into the perception of cats in society to date.
