Stay Cool…
Some cats tolerate the heat better than others, and it’s important to know what you’re looking for to make sure your cat is comfortable during the rise in temperatures. Here are some actions to take if you think a cat may have heatstroke, and a graphic of symptoms to look for.
If your cat appears to be suffering heatstroke, try these things:
- Move the cat to a shaded and cool area immediately.
- Begin cooling the cat down by placing a wet towel on them.
- Ensure the cat is drinking SMALL amounts of cool water regularly.
- Take the cat to a vet ensuring you continue to keep them cool with the dampened towels. If the cat starts shivering, stop applying the damp towels.
