Let there be light….a collar review….

This review may divide opinion. A lot of people I know are not comfortable with their cats wearing collars, due to possible safety issues. I myself only use the quick release collars and the release mechanism is checked thoroughly before my cats leave their home wearing them.

Because my cats have a microchip cat flap, they have 24/7 freedom unless there’s a reason not to. (For example, ensuring no food is consumed before an operation.) Once this decision was made I decided it was important they wear reflective collars to make them easier to see if they’re out and about after dark.

One of the best manufacturers I’ve found for quick release, reflective collars that are snazzy and fun are Red Dingo. The main design comes in a variety of colours with small reflective fish as a decorative but functioning detail.

The collars are hard wearing and don’t tend to start fraying very quickly, like some of the other collars my cats have worn. The safety clasp functions wonderfully and the design doesn’t wear off after a small amount of time, which has been a problem with previous collars.

I’d definitely recommend Red Dingo collars to anyone who asked. They are high end in terms of the cost, but they’re extremely good quality which is possibly why.
