Tis the season…
To be jolly….
And if you’re a cat parent, wonder exactly how you’re going to keep your Christmas tree vertical throughout the whole of the festive season.
Previously to Darwin joining my family, I’d never had a cat that was actually all that interested in the tree. But Darwin is interested in everything, which led me into a whole new area I’d never had to deal with previously; safeguarding the tree against a rather mischievous feline tornado.
While pondering this one day on the Christmas build up, something occurred to me. I used a spray to ensure the cats didn’t damage the furniture and it deterred them from scratching it, so maybe it would make the tree less interesting too.
When I decided it was time for festivities to commence, the tree was liberally dosed with Canac Pet Behave training spray to the point that I had to keep my distance from it too while the scent dissipated. But it proved effective, and the tree survived the whole festive season intact. I’ve done the same thing every year ever since, with equal degrees of success. (Unless you count just before I spray the tree and have to bodily remove both Chi and Darwin from around the base of the tree…What? There are baubles to hit around there!)
So if anyone else has a rather rambunctious feline who they just know is going to fixate on their festive décor, I’d highly recommend this product to solve their dilemma. It’s definitely made a difference in this household.
A traditional Christmas scene in many cat households….
