Happy New Year!
For UK cats, it hopefully is. This year, one of the largest charitable organisations for felines is being heard in the House of Commons with a “cat manifesto.”
An article in The Independent mentions seven points of the ten point document, all of which sound remarkably positive if the charity can push to get them implemented.

I’m hoping of the three points that aren’t mentioned in the article, two ongoing issues faced by concerned cat lovers will be addressed. Firstly, is the fact that if a cat is harmed on the road, the driver has no legal obligation to report it.The second is the fact that despite repeated tragic occurrences, manufacturers of anti freeze are still not required by law to add a bitterant.
I hope to watch the debate if it’s aired on UK television to see how the document is received by the MPs. It would be wonderful to think that changes to protect more felines in the UK will be coming into force this year.
