Where the wild things are (Part II)…

Last year I posted a blog about Gizmo, which can be found here:

The petition was started after Helen Abraham lost her feline family member, Gizmo in a fatal road traffic accident.

Since I posted the blog last year, I’ve been made aware of an organisation called Catsmatter. Catsmatter is challenging the legal system to offer better protection for cats involved in road traffic accidents. You can read their mission statement and visit their site here:

The organisation is important, as although some cats are content to have a very small range in terms of where they go, others are naturally predisposed to venture further. (And in the cases of feral and entire cats, their instincts definitely play a part in how far their territory is.)

Giving cats the freedom to exhibit their natural behaviour while offering them the protection other companion animals receive in this situation is definitely something that needs review.
